Teacher – Private High School Math

Do you love math? Do you love kids? We are looking for a high school math teacher for KORE Academy. KORE Academy is a 1st-12th grade, accredited private school that aims to educate, inspire, and empower students with learning differences. We are willing to train the right person.

We serve students with various learning differences such as dyslexia, ADHD, language-based learning disabilities, processing or sensory disorders, autism, and more. Our program is individualized and highly structured to provide success for each student in school and life.

KORE Academy seeks a dedicated teacher who can inspire kids with learning differences within a small and nurturing learning environment. Interested applicants must share the values inherent in the KORE philosophy:

Additional requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Out-going person
  • Special education experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Interest in social and emotional learning as an important part of daily classroom life
  • Willingness to learn alternative teaching styles and methodologies to address different learning styles and needs

Pay range – $30,000-40,000, depending on experience and health insurance benefits

PARA-EDUCATOR/SUBSTITUTE – ELEMENTARY

KORE Academy, a 1st-12th grade private school, seeks a dedicated para educator to assist certified teachers in the implementation of instructional practices, transitional activities, and maintaining a safe and supportive instructional environment. The position will be contract-based for 12 hours per week and you must be available Thursdays and Fridays. Retired teachers are encouraged to apply. Additional hours are available in after school care program Mondays thru Fridays.

Interested applicants should have experience with communicating and collaborating with teachers and other professionals to ensure special education students obtain quality instruction.

Additional requirements include:

  • Experience working with students with learning differences and disabilities, preferably at the elementary level.
  • Ability to follow teacher instructions, teacher-developed learning plans, and implement team decisions to meet individualized student needs.
  • Perform routine clerical duties such as preparation of instructional classroom materials; setting up student work areas; and operating office equipment, video, computer, adaptive devices, and other materials.
  • Monitoring and assisting students in academic and well as non-academic learning environments.
  • Attendance at all staff meetings and required training.
  • Punctual and maintains regular attendance for all school events
  • High School Diploma or GED

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work at a desk, conference table, or in meetings of various configurations.
  • Work is performed while standing, sitting, and/or walking.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching and the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50 pounds
  • Emotional stability to address the mental health needs of students.
  • Low to moderate-stress level.

Pay is contracted at $15.50 per hour.

AFTERCARE COORDINATOR

KORE Academy, a 1st-12th grade private school, seeks a dedicated aftercare coordinator to manage a safe, supportive, fun after-school environment. The position will be hourly and you must be available Monday-Friday afternoons. Retired teachers are encouraged to apply. Additional hours are available as a paraeducator/substitute for elementary on Thursdays and Fridays.

  • Expectations are individualized; in order to be fair, students must be treated differently.

Preferences:

  • Experience working with students with learning differences and disabilities
  • Out-going person
  • Monitoring and assisting students in non-academic learning environments, such as board games, arts/crafts.
  • Dependable daily attendance
  • High School Diploma or GED
